Looking After Your Veneers

We use the best porcelain or composite material picked by you, with your dentist we are able to recreate thin (false nail-like) veneers over your teeth.  Porcelain and Composite veneers are a perfect answer for changing the shape of the tooth and alignment to mask misaligned teeth.

You can leave High Street Dental Care with a new set of veneers in just two visits. We advise patients with veneers to have regular professional cleaning to protect their investment and to ensure the lifespan

After fitting, it is important to keep your veneer well-maintained with regular brushing and flossing. Your dentist and hygienist will show you how to keep on top of your dental hygiene and keep a close eye on the health of your veneers.

Although veneers are resilient, it is important to treat them with care, so try not to bite your fingernails or chew pen tops or use your teeth to open anything. Also, it is probably best to steer clear of very hard foods that could cause damage to the veneer.

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain adhered to the outer surface of the tooth. Composite veneers are engineered resin affixed to the outer surface. Both are made to match your teeth (or whiten) and improve your overall smile. We have both available to choose from.

Your Dental Veneer Treatment

On the first visit, you will have a detailed clinical assessment. Discussing your goals, concerns, then you will spend time with your dedicated treatment coordinator to plan convenient appointments and finance if necessary

On the second visit, you will start the treatment whether with non-invasive preparation or with teeth straightening if required. We will perform a digital scan to take precise measurements of your teeth which then will be used to prepare your very own waxup (trial smile).

Trial Smile day. If you have requested a trial smile, we will use the waxup to prepare your very own mock-up which essentially is temporary units specifically designed according to the digital scan and requests you have previously made. This mock-up will help you visualise and feel the end results.

The final fitting day is when your smile transformation takes place. We will place all units in a single appointment. From then on, you can start enjoying your new, natural-looking, and healthy smile. We will not stop here. You will be invited for your regular reviews

The mantra of a good dentist will always be to maintain as much natural and healthy tooth structure as possible and to keep your teeth as fit and healthy as we can.

Veneers do not necessarily make teeth look bigger. Sometimes veneers are used because teeth are too small in this case a big are looking to is desirable.

No. Your dentist will only need to prepare your tooth by trimming half a millimetre or less of tooth enamel. This is done so the special bonding agent has a better surface to adhere to and your porcelain veneer is more stable.

We will use a local anaesthetic during the tooth preparation and the veneer process so you will have a comfortable journey during the procedure. If you’re only having a few veneers placed there should be little discomfort post-treatment.
